The State's Attorney is the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of Kane County. The primary role of State's Attorney is to seek justice for victims of crime. There is no other elected official in Kane County that can act as the voice of the victim in court and seek the punishment allowed by law. The State's Attorney can seek justice, tempered with mercy, but must be able to seek imposition of the maximum sentence provided.
Only one candidate in the race for Kane County is qualified to appear in a courtroom in our county and seek this State's maximum punishment, John Barsanti. Of those candidates running for State's Attorney, only John Barsanti is admitted to this State's Capital Litigation Trial Bar. John Barsanti is the only candidate to have actually prosecuted a death penalty case. John's experience includes that of prosecuting death penalty cases throughout Illinois.
John is also the only candidate to have managed the Kane County State's Attorney's Office, both civil and criminal divisions, as the First Assistant. John supervised more than forty attorneys and their support and investigative staffs. John was appointed First Assistant by two different elected Kane County State's Attorneys. John is also the only attorney in this race who has been appointed by the Courts to represent individuals facing this State's harshest punishments.
John's experience is not limited to the office of a prosecutor. John is currently a member in an A.V. Rated law firm where he is the resident partner in their Elgin office. The firm, including John, has represented a wide variety of individuals in both civil and criminal cases.
Kane County needs an experienced lawyer to represent the interests of our citizens. Our County needs a lawyer with the experience to manage that office and the credentials to prosecute the most serious cases. Only one candidate can bring both experience and integrity back to the office of Kane County State's Attorney, John Barsanti.
